Media Statement: Spillage on M1

On the M1 Pacific Motorway early Friday morning (May 2, 2025), one of our trucks spilled metal scraps on southbound lanes between Wyong and Mooney Mooney.

We'd like to thank all motorists, and anyone else impacted in some way, for their patience today. The driver is devastated and profoundly apologetic — as are we.
Unfortunately, at this stage, we are still not sure how this incident occurred and our investigation is ongoing. Our fleet is undergoing mechanical checks, and we have all our qualified mechanics inspecting our entire operation.
Thank you to the authorities who have been working all day to get traffic flowing again — particularly with the rain, which has made the task even more difficult.
We're grateful for our staff who have all been heads down and focused today in helping with the cleanup efforts. Since the accident this morning, we've had all hands on deck, with many of our staff on the road assisting with the cleanup and getting drivers on their way.
